Tmp tattoos a fad? (also, tattoo discrimination)

Question:
Are temporary tattoos a fad or something? Too bad they're somewhat expensive. Well, not really, but since I have only $50 to my name, they seem expensive. Which, in your opinions are the best tmp tats? Hollie and Caroline seem to be pretty decent for lasting awhile. One girl had a barbwire tattoo around her neck, lasted about 2 weeks! Right now I have a tiger tattoo by Skin Trade, a Beautiful, colorful, Chinese dragon tattoo also by Skin Trade, and a black panther head by Milk & Honey. (two in a package). Is there some way I can get lots of these for a low price, maybe? Well, at some point, I'm going to get a permanent tattoo. The thing is, I've been wondering: is it true that jobs discriminate? That is, I'm a CompSci major and plan to be in big businesses, etc. (hopefully). Will something like Chinese dragon tattoo on the underside of my forearm hamper my future career? Do any of you have friends who are in big businesses and have tattoos? Or have a tattoo and have lost work because of it? Just wondering.. want to make a good decision.

Answer:
- While i have no direct experience with this flavor of discrimination, I have to believe that it exists. It seems that some people go out of their way to find something that they can point at, and laugh or ridecule. There is discrimination. Always has been. Always will be. - Temporary tattoos are one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. They're little toys for those who want to play at something they're not grown up enough to choose for real. It's like bondage gear as a fashion, or stupid het kids wearing pride rings because they think 'They're real cool, and the guy on MTV wears them'. - Most places that would be uptight about it would also expect you to wear long-sleeved shirts and maybe ties and jackets as well, so who's to know? By the time the company softball league comes along, and they see you in a T-shirt, they'll already know you're doing a good job at work so it won't be a problem, right? So don't be worried about this. - Depends on what side of the tattoo needle you are on. A lot of the coolest temporary tattoos were designed by tattoo artists we like (ie, Freddy, Eddie and Ed Hardy). I was in the shop when they were working on them. I harassed them a bit, but they made some good points. A lot of people who try temporary tattoos eventually get the real thing. For tattoo artists, this is a good thing, since it gets them some new business. As far as how they effect tattooed people, my tattoos have been around long enough that even the densest people I work with have stopped asking if they are permanent. Even the densest people can recognize fake one when it is gone. - Actually, they're helping me decide what kind of tattoo I want when I get the real one. I can mess around with different types, in different places, to get a feel for it.
