| NYC Tattoo shops |
Question:
please tell me of beautifull tattoo shops in NYC? Thank you!
Answer: - I'm told that Jonathan Shaw's place on St. Marks was the first shop to hang
out a shingle over a year ago, but I don't know for certain. Tattooing was
made illegal several years ago after an outbreak of hepatitis at one
particular shop in the Rockaways, which is a very good record considering
that there were no health department standards, licensing or compliance
inspections to ensure sterile conditions. What would have been the health
record at NYC restaurants if not for health department regulations? It's a
political law. Outside NYC, where tattooing is legal, there are virtually
no reports of health problems.
- I have hmmm 9 I think all done by the same guy, in NYC on Eldridge street,
always been real happy with his work, Call Craig at 212.388.9060, he's a
very easy going guy and a great artist.
- Tattooing is illegal in NYC so most of the best tattooers work underground.
My favorite tatto shop is NYC ink on 5th street and 2nd ave. It is the
first (to my knowlege) store front shop since tattoing became illegal in
the city years ago (due to health department concerns). Although it is
illegal, it is never enforced.
- There is one St. Marks Place between 1st Ave and Avenue A in the East
Village.
I don't know how good it is....
Tattoo Parlours, as I understand it, were illegal in NYC until recently
because of archaic public sanitary laws. I think they were the same laws
that closed down all the bath houses in the seventies.
