| Tatoo on foot? |
Question:
Kind of a dumb question here, but has anyone seen anything like a tattoo on
a ferret's pad? One of our new kids, Kudra, has a mark on her right front
foot that is exactly the same color as the tattoos n her ears. We had Dr.
Okawa look at it, and she agrees. I initially thought it was a bruise of
some sort, but there is no swelling, no tenderness, or any sign of injury.
So, has anyone else seen this sort of thing?
Answer:
-I have one with the toe tattoo.She 's a dark sable,so it wasn't easy spotting
it with my old eyes.She's 4,so fits in the time period.Haven't found one on my
5 1/2, or my 6 1/2 year old fert.
-my albino has a blue-black marking on his foot too, is this the
marshall farm toe tattoo?
-I've heard from reliable sources that MF started tattooing toes about
5 years ago. I've yet to see one "in the flesh," however, so I can't
confirm. Apparently, the toes are easier to ink, and by tattooing in
different patterns the dates of neuter, descent, and CD inoculation
can be signified.
-Just curious, are there ear tatoos as well?
