| Hip tattoos? anyone.. |
Question:
does anyone have one??
I plan to get one soon but i dont want the gargoyle...
any help...
Answer: -The day I wake up hating the hip is the day I never wake up.
-I plan on getting a small gargoyle with TTH written above it..and I am also
considering getting a tattoo of the Road Apples cover....the guy that I am
getting it done from can do almost anything..just needs an example..s'pretty
cool.
-If I were getting one I'd just get the 'The Tragically Hip' written in the
Day for Night font. But that's a moot point, because I think it's kind of
dumb to brand yourself with the name of a band that you could one day wake
up hating.
-when i got my Rush tatoo (man in the star) lots of people said it was dumb, i'd
regret it, how would i feel when i wasn't "into the band" anymore, etc? i
waited two years after i first started wanting it to make sure i was sure. six
years ago, i went through with it. haven't regretted it for a second. when
you love the music that much, when you love what the band has given you that
much, i believe you won't ever tire of the tat. when the music is in you that
much, so is the tat. then it's just a matter of bringing to the surface what
has always been there, and will, in some capacity, always be there. at worst,
you still like the music, it's been a powerful force in your life and maybe
you're just not as fanatical about it as you were 12-15 years ago. so? it's
not ugly to you, it's still art and it's a symbol of something that at one
point in your life, meant a great deal to you. it's like a birthmark, it's not
the end of the world, it's just there. and at best? it's in your very soul,
and always will be. and you wear it on your skin with pride. i've been
thinking of my HIP tattoo for about a year now...one more year to go!!!!
