| Need advice on my tattoo design |
Question:

I have designed my own and I plan to get this tattoo done soon but I
just need a bit of advice before I go for it. I'm getting it done
above my ankle approximately 10cm wide, are the smaller flowers too
small? Is the white really possible or is the whitest tattoo ink
pinkish? How much should I expect to pay for this tattoo? Are the
black lines too thin? Are they possible? I would really appreciate any
help!
Answer: -IMO 10 cm will likely be a little too small to get the detail you want. Your
best bet is to go to the artist of your choice and have him/her apply
stencil of various sizes at the site. I'd suggest you need at least 15-20
cm. single needle outline will probably do what you want. Keep in mind a
good artist can do what you want , a shitty one will screw you and it up. In
tattooing there should be "buyer beware" attitude.
-I'd go to your tattooist. Ask them, get them to draw the design on your
leg. Its' *your* tattoo, and you must be happy with it.
If you aren't sure about an artist, check out The List at
http://www.ukbodyart.org/list/. If the artist you are going to is not on
that list, feel free to ask for opinions here.
Even if they are on The List, while you are at the studio, getting the
drawing done and asking about prices, look at the place, the tattooist,
the hygiene, previous work done by them, and decide how you feel about
the place. If it doesn't feel right, don't go there.
As for cash, again, get a quote from the tattooist. Cheaper does not
equal better, but neither does more expensive. I paid at a rate of
£50/hour for mine if that's any help.
Others will be along soon with more advice I guess
