            Axl Tattoo Question

Question:
Do you think Axl still has the AFD cross tattoo. I mean seeing as isn't on speaking terms with the other four people depicted in that artwork, it seems kinda weird for him to still be wearing that picture on his body.

Answer:
- I can't speak for Axl but, personally, my tattoos are like a diary of my life's journey. The fact that I'm not in the same place as when I had some of them inked, (with regard to relationships, thoughts and feelings, etc), is to be expected. When getting one done, part of the attraction is the knowledge that I'm permanently recording a particular time in my life - I never go into it with the idea that it can be removed. Maybe it has something to do with the pace of life today, ever changing attitudes and ideas, so this represents a kind of stability and a way of acknowledging certain milestones in my life. It's something I ponder on quite often. - I think he probably does. He kept the W. Rose part of his name. To me that always seemed like he was keeping the "dark" half of himself with that. His childhood and all that crap, that seems like the W. Rose. When he changed his name to Axl, the Axl seemed like his attempt to rise above his problems, to move on. So it always seemed to me like that though he is maturing and getting through all that, that dark W. Rose history is always a part of him, for better or worse, he lived through it and it added into who he is now. I don't think he'll get rid of (or has already) the AFD cross. Even if he considers it a totally dead, closed book by now, I don't think he's one to deny the past or such...
