Question:
Has anybody got any links/piccies of authentic polynesian "tribal"
tattoos? I am very interested in getting some work done in this
style and need some reference material to show to my local artist.
Failing that, has anybody scanned any images from Rapa Nui that I
could download?

Now what *I'm* looking for is a good illustration of the fishnet-like design
put on the lower abdomen.A couple of the Tattootime volumes also include illustrations of some
reasonably authentic designs from the Pacific islands. You should look at Modern Primitives. The article on Hanky-Panky includes as
illustrations a number of what seem to be his ethnologically derived flash
sheets, some from Pacific islands. The interview with Dan Thome shows some
designs, though quite dimly. Photos of a guy with a bodysuit (Ron Isherwood?) in
recent issues of some magazines give tantalizing glimpses of this.
