Question:
I am planning a tattoo "excursion" to coincide with
my SOs week-long business trip up that way and need
my fellow RABbits' advice. Can anyone recommend a good tattoo studio in
Rochester, NY or reasonably close by?
Answer:
I always have to ask myself how anyone
can recommend an artist without knowing anything at all about what
kind/style tattoo you are looking for. Some artists handle many
different kinds of tattoos very well, but just because an artist is
*good* it doesnt mean he/she is right for you. For instance I have
quite a few tats by one artist (rabbit..lakenheath, UK) but I am
planning a Boris Vallejo type piece for my hip and Rabbit is fully
aware that it will be inked by someone else (Tom Ptolomy...South End
on Sea ----I hope) Rabbit would do the work if I asked him too..and
it would probably look great (hey he's a WONDERFUL artist)....but Toms
would have just that *something* more that makes it special...If
someone asked for recommendations for tattoist in England I would be
very happy to give either of these names....but I would feel a lot
more comfortable knowing what you want so I could recommend the best
for your dreams. Sometimes asking for a good shop/artist IMO is just
not enough.
BTW dont take this as a flame....just something that has been bugging
me for a while......I hope you do find a wonderful person to ink you
..and end up with exactly what you desire!.....and ya tell us all
about it when its done (pics to a.b.p.b. PLEASE)
