| Traditional Japanese Tattoos |
Question:
Can anyone tell me where I can get a traditional Japanese tattoo done.
Either in Detroit or its surrounding area, or else in Hawaii? Any input would be appreciated!
Answer: - I am also interested in that! A panther would be nice. I had better
not ask for an orie............
- technique or style? if the latter any compitent artist, technique then good
luck, wait for a large tattoo convention of fly to Japan. I had some hand
work done at the NTA con 6 or seven years ago and have seen the family doing
it at others.
- What I meant when I said "Traditional" was just that. I know there are some
schools of tattoo artists that trace there roots back several hundred, if
not thousands, of years. I know its a long shot, but I'd like to find an
artist of that heritage someday. Until then, I've been keeping my skin
blank. I don't want to risk being told that the Tattoo Master won't tattoo
me because I'm already marked by someone else.
- Sorry, it's not qite this easy. Lately, there have ben many
people who say they are doing "traditional" Japanese tattoos, when all
they are doing is what could best be described as "Sushi Menu"
Japanese. And what is worse, is that it is suspected that what they
are really inking onto their clients' bodies is pornography ("Stinky
cunt drip girl" or "boy with micro-boner"). I have even heard a
theory that the infamous kidney snatchers are actually signalled by a
tattoo on the soon to be victim's body -- yes, a "traditional"
Japanese tattoo.
Don't chance it. I know there is an ancient sect of tattoo artists
that does the work you are looking for. If they think you are worthy,
they will find you. You don't find them.
