Question:
Does anyone know of any books
which can be used as source material for my upcoming norse/viking
tattoo?I want some norse/viking stuff tattooed on my body. I guess it is a bit
like celtic stuff. The vikings were excellent artist and they made a lot
of
interseting things in wood and metal.
Answer: -I was thinking of getting a Viking/Norse tattoo as well, until I talked to
a friend of mine who said that wouldn't be a good a idea because
viking/norse stuff is popular amongst skinheads and white supremicists.
Anyone else hear this?
-Try the Book Of Kells for old celtic stuff. If you can find a first
edition, the pictures will be better.
-Actually, I think that celtic symbols, especially the celtic cross, are
also popular with white supremicists. Speaking as an american of celtic
orgin who is _not_ a white supremicist, I completely resent the
perversion that these symbols have gone through. These symbols mean a
great deal to me, for both my heritage and my faith. So I persist in
having them, a celtic knot armband and a triangle knot.
I must say, however, that depending on where in the country you are,
these might unintentionally offend, or worse, attract white supremicists
to you. So, as always, it is a personal decision.
Has anyone meet into this problem, ie. being identified as a white
supremicist because of their tats?
