| Help with ideas for tattoo, christian designs.. |
Question:
I'm drooling just thinking
about having a first tattoo, I can't wait. I will become 18 next week!
Could anyone suggest other ideas for fairly symbolic christian symbols
I could have overlooked? I've had a hard time finding something I
really liked. The cross works well and I like the way it looks, but I
don't want to do it before I know if there is anything else more
significant.
Does anyone have any opinion?
Answer: --I have done a lot of stuff with the fish symbol , the grail and the star
of David. Not as common, but still very recognizable - Palm leaves, Ark of the
Covenant, and the Lamb.
Olive branches and doves seem to be used quite often also.
-You can go to a record store, and ask for the CD of a band
called "the path of resistance". There is an awful tatto photo on the
inside of the cover: it is like a sacread heart, but with a cross coming
out from the top of it.
-There are several books on Christian designs, and a number of different designs
of crosses, from the very simple Greek or equal arm cross, to the patriarchal
cross, to the Byzantine (sometimes called Russian orthodox) three bar cross. If
there is a good Catholic Book store, Christian Book Store, or library nearby go
there for some ideas. You might also think about going into one or another of
the older Catholic parishes in your area to look at the designs in the windows.
