Question:
I sit here looking at Tom cruise's drawing of Lewis Carroll's
Jabberwock, and can't help but notice how its foot and tail would
fit perfectly around my right ear, and how the rest of the
drawing would fall oh-so-nicely into place on the side of my head.
I ask of ye-who-are-more-experienced-than-I: Do skull
tats hurt a lot (I've heard that tats over bone tend to)? Any idea
what I might pay for this (all black, a fair amount of detail/shading)?
Not that any of that matters, of course, since money is just a matter of
time, and painful experiences are, IMHO, a lot more interesting than
comfy ones!
Answer: yes, a skull tattoo (of which i have none) will hurt -- all tattoos
will hurt. it depends on
the needles used (single needles for outline hurt more than groups)
the phase of the moon (sometimes it just hurts more)
the tattoo artists (some have a delicate" touch)
the location (although different people claim diferently what is worst)
the person (pain thresholds and all that)
recent trauma to the location (filling on last week's outline hurt more
than the outline)
so the only thing you can say is "it will hurt"
cost is usually an hourly thing, the artist will estimate
how long to do the ink, and charge on their hourly rate -- that will be between
25 and 250 dollars
