Question:
I need a suggestion from someone who's kind enough to offer one...I have a large
tribal dragon on my left arm/shoulder, and I want to put another one on my right
one (I've been crazy about dragons since I was 7 yrs old, am 24 now).
The thing is that I want a bigger one this time, one that will go down my upper
arm, but also a little bit on my chest and rear deltoid. I kind of see it as a
large winged dragon (tribal, all black, I don't fancy the chinese ones) with its
claws extending onto the chest and rear delt.
I know that what I am asking for is very unorthodox and sneered upon in this
community, but it is my last resort, believe me I have explored all other
venues. So if you think that you can help, please do, if not please don't flame
me and lecture me, you have my sincere apologies beforehand if I have in any way
offended anyone.
Now the problem - I live in a small town in South AFrica, and although I have a
friend that will do the tattoo (he did my first one, and I am more than happy
with it), I don't have many ways of finding designs, at least not that I like.
There are no magazines of that kind that are imported here, and my friend does
not carry many desgn books, the type of ppl that he tattoos mainly tattoo names
and other stuff like that, not the nice designs that I want.
I was hoping that someone here can help me with a design, I would really
appreciate it. I have tried to do my own, but I really suck at drawing (I am an
electrical engineer, so you can imagine how well I can draw. I know that
even my description above is quite terse and insufficient, but I know that when
someone that is mad about dragons like I am reads it they will know exactly what
I mean.

-Yeah I see your point, and I agree to some extent. However I think
that you have misunderstood me. I never meant to ask someone to sit
down and *draw* a design for me, that would be ridiculous and
preposterous, to ask someone I have never met to hammer out a design
just for me.
What I meant is that if someone already has something that sounds more
or less like what I have described above, I would really appreciate it
if they could let me see it, even just so that I can get some ideas
and maybe modify it to suit me. Of course, I would be willing to pay
the person who lets me have a design that is suitable for me, the only
problem is that due to currency differences (1 ZAR is about 0.1 US$)
the amount I can pay may seem a bit ridiculous to, say, an American.
-the problem is not that you're asking someone other than your
artist to draw this for you. the problem is that what you want is VERY
specific to your own body & musculature, & having someone who is not IN
THE ROOM WITH YOU design this is going to be time-consuming & very
annoying. picture yourself saying shit like "the back left claw needs to
be like forty degrees um clockwise?" as emails pass back & forth for six
years.
i don't think this will work well. you may just have to take a
trip. flights are cheap these days, you know.
should you find someone, do offer money to whomever is designing
this for you. you'll do better if the artist realizes you KNOW this is a
purchase.
Anyway, thanks for your reply, nice to see that this ng is not
infested with people who flame noobs right away.
