| Ankleband or Armband Tattoo |
Question:
i'm interested in getting a tattoo, either an ankleband or an
armband.
I read this article in which someone wrote it wouldn't be very adviseable
to have your first tattoo near bones ( or at least where there's not a lot
of skin ) . I think this is because of pain , and if it's right,Would it be a big problem ?
I' ve been looking for some designs , just to give me a couple of
ideas, but i can't seem to find any , does anyone know any picture galleries for
ankle and/or armband tattoos ? Any input would be apprecitated!
Answer: - I just recently got my first tatoo, Saturday to be exact. It is at the
base of my neck. It's a sun and moon design that a local guy made for
me. I thought that it would hurt tons more than it did. It is sore now
and is starting and onion skin scab. It looks great though and I love
it. My next one is going to be a lizard around my ankle. I wouldn't
really worry about the pain it's kinda mind over matter. Althought the
guy who did mine told me that guys were usually the wimpiest.
- my first tattoo is an armband like you. As far as the pain issue go, you are correct
though it varies person to person. Best thing to do is to check the FAQ
at the RABbit home page at http://www.eskimo.com/~rab on placement of the
tattoo on the body.
As far as a design, it really is anything you want. If you're looking for
a place to start just go around to your local artists and check out their
portfolio's. Also, think about why you want a tattoo. If it is to
symbolize a rite of passage, think about what this rite means. If it is
because you think tats. are cool, think of what else you may think is
cool. The only limits are your imagination and the technology of the
needles.
- My first tattoo was around my ankle, and I hardly felt it. (A lot
of solid blackwork, "tribal"-esque style.) My second was around my
bellybutton, though, and *boy* did I feel that one. As far as I've found,
it hurts much more on soft areas: my upper thigh and belly hurt, but my
ankle, hip, lower thigh, and the back of my head hardly hurt at all.
In either case, you really shouldn't concern yourself with the pain
primarily .. get the design where *you* want it to be. The memory of the
pain will fade, but you'll have your tat where you want it forever.
