| Ankle Tattoo Healing |
Question:
Last month I had my third tattoo done. It is all red work
and on my ankle. Has anyone who has gotten an ankle tattoo done noticed that it
takes long to peel? My first tattoo which is on my arm, seemed to be all
peeled before 3 weeks. This one looks like it wants to peel but seems to be taking
forever.
Answer: - My only tattoo is on my ankle so I can't compare healing times.
However, my peeling was completely finished in about ten days. I know
it was completely peeled off by two weeks, since that's when I started
shaving again.
I used Aveeno lotion on it, which seemed to soften the peeling skin up
quite a bit.
I think I just heal absurdly fast (except my damn tongue, which took
several days to get normal). This makes me think a navel pierce would
heal relatively quickly on me, but I have a particularly shallow navel,
so I'm proceeding with caution. (One piercer said he wouldn't do it
since it would prolly reject ... a more reputable piercer said he could
do it, with a curved barbell.)
- The tattoo on the top of my foot didn't even start to peel for two weeks!
Since that's just around the corner from you ankle I'd bet that the healing
time is similar.
- I have two ankle tattoos, and neither one of them ever did peel, they
just healed.
- This may be due to decreased blood flow, a common scene on lower appendages,
esp. feet and ankles.
- Though I don't yet have a tattoo on my ankle, my mothers peeled for about a
week and a half (a small woman symbol) and a friend of mine with a very ornate
swirly and butterfly thing has been peeling for about 3 weeks now....
