| Ankle Tattoo |
Question:
For my 18th B-day (in october), I am getting my first tattoo on my
ankle. So, I would like to hear from different people what they have on
their ankle or any ideas of what would look good on an ankle.
Answer: - I love my ankle tattoo! It is a snake wound around it. Its body
is teal with a red, orange and yellow aztec design along its whole
length. The head is pointed upward above the outside ankle bone, and
the tail points downward below the bone, so the tattoo doesn't actually close. Another version of this would be to have the tail in its mouth (This in
celtic mythology would symbolize the power of the female, so if you're a guy
you may not go for that ;).
A friend of mine has the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Panda bear just above
her outer ankle bone- it's all in black and is realy sharp.
- As to ideas for the ankle tattoo, I'm planning to get a solid black
tribal design, running around the ankle, with a curve arcing down to come
around under the knob (on the inside of the ankle), and another curve
arcing above in a quasi-mirror image. The current concept involves
having the arc below the knob looking mechanical, angular, almost
stenciled onto the skin - the mechano-tribal look; and for the upper arc
to be a very smooth, organic, flowing curve, possibly incorporating a
koru, or traditional maori fern-frond design (Hey, I _am_ a New
Zealander). I want to get a contrast between the two styles, to try and
emphasize the blend between traditional and technical in my life. I'm
also considering having the part of the anklet where the two curves
intersect being a small circle, representing a sun, but I'm still not
sure... I'm going to get it as soon as I can get the courage, the money,
and my flatmate, who is going to get her ankle done at the same time.
- Argyle socks. Tattoo argyle socks on your feet.. besure to leave a frayed
hole for the first tattoo to show through..
- I've seen a few good pictures of people with various sorts of chains and
manacles(sp) tattoed on their ankles, It's not very original but there is
still a large scope for size/shape/material/color or the duplicated
restraint and anything attached to it.
