Question:
it's a dillema that has been bothering me for
a while.i'm very serious about this, I've been wanting to get my first tattoo for a very long time now. The
thing that has been holding me up is my inabillity to create the concept in my
mind of what i want.
I'm trying to figure out a way to make the tattoos look like scars, or wounds,
or something.. on the back.. where angel wings would have once been. For the
"fallen angel" effect.I want the marks to
be *obvious* what they are. But i don't want it tacky, or ugly. Not just some poor excuse for random scars. I want
an elegant, sad, touching effect. And i don't know how to do it. Can anyone
point me to a picture, or better verbally explain how to do it right, or
ANYTHING? This is my dream, please help me make it.
Answer: - that's a beautiful idea. Someone who did a response suggested a
cutting or brand with the tattoo of a remnant feather. That's the best
idea in my mind. If you ever get this done I HAVE to see a picture.
Awesome idea. Is your .sig a PF related thing?
- Interesting Idea, maybe a brand or cutting would look more like what you want?
Maybe add to that a tattoo of the remnants of a white feather or two,
suggesting angel wings..
tough concept to convey, but a REALLY neat idea..
- have you Ever see "Brewster McCloud"? That was a Robert Altman movie from
about 1970 about a boy [Bud Cort] who lives in the basement of the
Astrodome with his sort-of-mother [Sally Kellerman]. She is raising
him so that he can fly away with a pair of wings he is building.
There is one scene where she is shown getting in the bath, and she
has a pair of removed-wing scars on her back. Granted, this is just
done with theatrical makeup, but it is an example of what you
describe. As for how to achieve this effect in Real Life [TM], you
might want to do a cutting for the main scar, and maybe tattoo in
sutures along it with white ink.
- superb idea for a mod!
the suggestion of a tattoo + cutting/branding is possibly very good -
though some brands i've seen (photos anyway) are a bit ugly and
fleshy
- That's an interesting idea. I think you should be able to achieve the
effect by getting an artist to use some greywork so it looks shaded. I'm
sure an artist can give you a look like you've got scarring on your back.
I guess the tough part is going to be in figuring out exactly how the
scars should look like. You may wish to do some research to figure out how
the wings attach on at the back?
- you may want to avoid this however, a brand way give the impression of an old wound that you want
giving a touch of pathos
